Description

• TWY 12 Series is a solvent-based pad printing ink based on special modified resins.

Application

• Suitable for printing onto : -
  • ABS
  • Hi-Impact polystyrene (HIPS)
  • Polycarbonate (PC)
  • Rigid PVC
  • Cellulose acetate
  • Pre-treated (by flame or corona) polyethylene (PE) & polypropylene (PP)
  • Other plastics

Drying

• TWY 12 Series used as a one-component ink dries very fast at 25ºC within 3 minutes. Used as a two-component ink, the addition of PU Hardener 74 will extend the drying time.Drying time will vary according to the substrate, depth of cliché, drying conditions and auxiliaries used.

Resistance

• TWY 12 Series has been tested to give the following outstanding properties :-

Colours

• Available in 13 standard shades giving excellent opacity. 4 process colours CMYK & metallic shades are also available on request.

  All standard shades are intermixable to achieve colors from popular colour reference systems such as Pantone, RAL and HKS. TWY 12 series should not be mixed with other inks outside of this series.

Reducer

• Reducer WKV1 is suitable to adjust the viscosity of ink. Typically 10-15% is used.

Auxiliaries

• TWY 12 Series is supplied with following modifiers to adjust ink properties. TKR : Improve pad printing transfer. Anti-smearing effect.
• Extender TR : Add to TWY ink to improve screen printability. Also improves transparency and reduces ink cost.
• PU Hardener 74 : Use at 10% - 15%. Improves print hardness & resistance against abrasion, weather, chemicals etc.
• AP55: Add 20%-30% to TWY ink to increase adhesion to some metals & difficult plastics eg. nylon, PPO, pretreated PE & PP, corrugated PP etc. Increases gloss and flexibility.
• AP135 : Same function as AP55. More effective in increasing adhesion on metals.
• PP Primsol : A solvent based primer to be applied on untreated polypropylene (PP). Apply by wiping substrate with cloth. 

Regulatory Compliance 

• Colours are based on pigments conforming to EN71 Part 3 and Directive 2002/95/EC on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) in Electrical and Electronic Equipment, permitting use in printing of toys, plastic ware, consumer electronics, spectacle frames etc.

Storage

• Containers should be stored in cool conditions and not exposed direct to sunlight or heated environments. This can cause the shortening of shelf life of the ink, which is approximately 24 months from date of manufacture. Do not smoke in storage area.

Safety and Handling

• Appropriate safety clothing such as safety glasses, uniforms, aprons and gloves should be used when handling the product. Ensure working area is properly ventilated and vapour is not inhaled. Frequent or prolonged skin contact should be avoided. In such cases, users should wash thoroughly with soap and water to avoid skin irritation.
